The argument thread

June 22nd, 2006

This thread is for comments that are not in keeping with my post of yesterday

Grandad walloped again by TB at PMQ’s yesterday, also TB managed to highlight the garbage that’s put out in Lib Dem literature at election time.

The ‘all things to all people’ stuff is wearing pretty thin and great that its being more & more exposed,on the other hand everyone knows the Lib Dems have a snowball’s chance in hell of ever forming a government so I guess it provides some form of entertainment.

At least to look half serious surely they can find a replacement for Grandad at PMQ’s ?

Roger, now please tell me what my “petty prejudices” are suuposed to be or provide an apology.

Time and time again you have been abusive, but I will never sink to that level.

Mr Palmer, I just don’t get it when you think its good that your colleagues can use publicly funded airtime, and money possibly obtained from selling peerages, to fund a campaign that calls an opponent a reptile and then you complain when somebody provides what probably millions would agree is an accurate description of Mandelson.

Do you EVER ask yourself WHY those on the right like SeanT and those on the left like myself are very angry and why tens of thousands of members are deserting the Labour party?

Let’s not forget that New Labour has a record of discrediting those that oppose them, from rail campaigners, to an elderly lady on a hospital trolly, to Black Rod and Mo Mowlem to Doctor Wakefield to whistleblowers to a young man who held Hodge responsible for his child abuse, to Dr Kelly. It is New Labour strategy to smear, discredit and mock those that oppose.

So please explain why you should be outraged at what SeanT has stated?

  3. It appears Mike called for calm and a return to the ways of old, then constructed a thread for all those annoyed by that advice to, erm, be annoyed.

  4. Is this the right place for an argument?

  5. You looking at me ?

  6. Calm down, calm down!

  7. 4. What kind of argument do you want then? I can do you desultary discourses for £15. . . .

  8. I think zebidee you are massively overestimating the value of your posts as you missed the decimal point off the front.

Well I’m afraid that was the best bit of random abuse I could come up with which is why I’m in the education business not the satire business

  9. Do the government pay grants for falsely self-deprecatory self-educators?

  10. All Tories are inherently evil.
All Liberal Democrats are utterly mad.
    All Labourites are wholly stupid.

There, that’s settled then. Can we move on from petty political points?

  11. 9 you really need to do better than that, that’s a crap effort at being insulting and now you’ve ruined the whole thread.

  12. What on earth is all this dribbling gobbledygook supposed to be about? Has someone hacked in and polluted the site with some smelly spam? Or is there a subtle bit of satire somewhere which I don’t get? I thought this was supposed to be a serious political website.
