The Guardian continues to tease us
July 26th, 2006-
The wait for the July ICM poll continues
It’s now just on 2am and I am off to bed. There is no sign on the Guardian’s web pages of the July ICM survey even though they must have had the data for a couple of days.
After suggesting yesterday that the paper was playing a form of striptease this appeared in our comments thread at 5.19pm yesterday evening - “Sorry to keep you waiting for the rest of the poll. It will be out soon. The results are interesting for all three parties, I promise⦔. The writer was Julian Glover who usually covers polls for the paper. He is clearly taking his inspiration from Sophia Loren - seen here in a 1963 shot.
Please use this thread to discuss it when it does come out.

Most tenuous picture ever
“Boccaccio 70″-Sophia Loren?
Roger, I think it’s “”Ieri, oggi e domani”.
I’m not sure why we are all so excited about the poll. I am sure the picture of Sophia Loren above is more interesting.
Her thighs appear a little too overstated in it? Is it a rogue picture?
I seem to recall a few years ago a big EU row over condom size. Apparently the Italian standard had a diameter one or two millimetres smaller than the EU norm.
6 SBS. It’s quite clear that Sophia has partaken of a fellow Scot !
I’m surprised no one’s got a copy of the Guardian by now! Don’t you Guardian readers get an early morning paper? Not that it’s that early any more.
6.”Apparently the Italian standard had a diameter one or two millimetres smaller than the EU norm. ”
Are you suggesting Italians don’t have enough “materials” to put in it? How you dare!
ICM poll… still no sign on the Guardian website - but the politics/polls page will give Labour supporters some heartening news. Under ‘State of the parties’ the page has the August Guardian/ICM poll as their “latest monthly survey”, showing Labour with a 7% lead over the Conservatives… shame it’s from August 2005 though.
This was going against the grain but I bought the paper and found there was nothing about the poll.
Each day, of course, the survey becomes more out of date and, anyway, we should have YouGov in the Telegraph on Friday.
Mike
lol what a scam! Seems like someone’s on a wind-up!
9 - not at all. But it was a true EU story in the early 1990s.
13 - in fact, Andrea, I was awaiting your interjection on this matter.
14. I blame the Christian Democrats!
Can you picture Buttiglione talking about condom diameter?
Well, here’s the page: http://www.icmresearch.co.uk/reviews/2006/Guardian%20-%20July/guardian-july-2006.asp
But at the moment it’s “unreachable”
page 312 on teletext saying latest ICM poll shows Lib Dem support has dropped by 4% in a month, back to levels not seen since start of Iraq War.No word on Lab or Con levels.
